About Us

WAV Inspection Takes Pride In:

  • Providing clients with accurate data and photographs in a timely manner so that engineers can make informed repair decisions.
  • Having technicians who are qualified with multiple tickets. (CGSB UT2, RT2, MT2, PCN PAUT2, CWB Level 1, and AMPP Level 1.)
  • Equipping each of our trucks with all the equipment necessary to perform a complete inspection.

WAV Inspection was started in 2006 by Brian Purves and Wayde Maxwell. Prior to 2006, Brian and Wayde had worked together in the NDE industry, starting with new construction facility and pipeline radiography, and then gradually moving into the maintenance side of oil and gas, conducting corrosion surveys and pipeline integrity assessments.

Office Front Door

WAV Inspection operates as a radiography and pipeline integrity company with both divisions complementing each other during cut-out programs. WAV's primary focus is currently pipeline integrity work, but we continue to provide gamma radiography services.

We have created and continue to develop a pipeline integrity app-based reporting software that creates reports from a database.

Our employees are committed to providing outstanding customer service and industry leading expertise in NDE.

Pipeline Integrity Training and Experience

Our current team has an average of 10 years of experience, encompassing both technician and assistant roles. Our preference is to hire assistants and train them into technicians over a 3-5 year period, allowing them to experience a variety of different situations. As new equipment and technologies are introduced, WAV Inspection personnel receive additional training from technology manufacturers and industry experts.

Employee

WAV Inspection completes an average of 500 integrity digs annually. Our clients are located from Prince Rupert to Winnipeg and Zama City to the USA border. We've completed digs using side-by-sides, boats, helicopters, and trucks.

Certifications

All integrity crews have, at a minimum, CGSB UT2 and MT2, with in-house training on Creaform laser scanning and LIBS carbon equivalency testing. Additional certifications may include CWB level 1 Visual, PCN PAUT Level 2 Welds and AAMP Level 1 Coating Tickets.

Field Reporting

WAV Inspection's field reporting is completed onsite using iPads and our own software. All data and photos are uploaded to our server, utilizing robust data handling techniques to ensure that errors do not occur during data transfer.
